Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. This page explains exactly what data StepSolvers collects, how it's used, and your rights. The short version: we collect almost nothing, and we never sell your data.

1. What We Collect

StepSolvers is a fully static website. All calculations run entirely in your browser, no data is ever sent to our servers. We do not require registration, login, or any personally identifiable information to use any of our tools.

We may collect the following through third-party services (see Section 4):

• Anonymous usage analytics, pages visited, time on page, country/region (no IP stored)
• Technical data, browser type, device type, screen resolution

We never collect your calculation inputs. Every calculation runs locally in your browser and the numbers you enter are never transmitted to us or to any third party. We do not collect names or email addresses unless you voluntarily submit them via our contact form. Where advertising is enabled, third-party advertising vendors may collect data as described in Sections 3 and 4 below.

2. Contact Form

If you use our Contact page, we receive the name, email address, and message you submit. This information is used solely to respond to your enquiry and is not added to any mailing list or shared with third parties.

3. Cookies

StepSolvers uses cookies for a small number of purposes. We may use a session cookie to remember your Degrees/Radians preference on the scientific calculator widget; this cookie contains no personal data and expires when you close your browser.

If and when advertising is enabled on this site, third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you can opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices.

You can also block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Blocking cookies will not prevent you from using any calculator on this site, since all calculations run locally in your browser.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• KaTeX (jsDelivr CDN), used to render mathematical formulas. No personal data is collected by this service.
• Chart.js (CDN), used for graphs where applicable. No personal data is collected.
• Google AdSense, if and when advertising is enabled, used to display advertisements. Google may collect and use data as described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are shown a consent notice before any non-essential or advertising cookies are set, and can withdraw or change that consent at any time.

5. Data Retention

We hold very little data of our own. Contact form submissions are kept only as long as necessary to resolve your enquiry. Data collected by third-party advertising vendors is retained according to their own policies, linked in Section 4.

6. Your Rights

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under GDPR including the right to access, correct, or delete any personal data we hold. Since we hold almost none, in practice this means you can request deletion of any contact form submission you sent us.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of StepSolvers after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
